Starting next Tuesday, August 15, 2023 and continuing over the next 2-3 weeks, PCLP customers may notice drones flying overhead to perform essential line inspections on approximately 2,080 poles across all of Matamoras, a portion of Westfall (from Cummins Hill Road east), Millrift and Pond Eddy. Performing inspections on power lines is a critical factor for the safe operation of power grids. Drone inspections allow PCLP to take a proactive approach vs. reactive approach to identify any repairs and maintenance needed on our lines. If you see these drones, don’t be alarmed, they are simply surveying on our power lines to prevent extensive failures or damage.
